New To The Game?

If you have never played Texas Hold'Em before or have only played a couple of times with friends, the first thing you need to do is relax and don't feel nervous. Texas Hold'Em is a very easy game to learn and play and when you play with PokerFun NZ, you will also be playing with people that (a) were once in the same position as you and (b) are more then happy to take the time and walk you through how it all works.

While there is always the competitive nature of the game, most players play for the enjoyment and for the social aspect. Texas Hold'Em is one of those games where you play as an individual and not as part of a team. Therefore if you have arranged to come to a game with some friends and they cancel at short notice, you can still come along.

When you come to one of our nights, introduce yourself to our Poker Manager. They will explain how the night runs and will assign you to someone who will look after you. Once you've gotten over the initial nervousness you'll be wondering why you hadn't come along ages ago.

Our poker nights are FREE TO PLAY. Most players will have a drink and sometimes a meal as they are having a night out and want to enjoy themselves. Some will come along with friends and some will come on their own. Everyone pretty much knows everyone so there is always friendly banter on the poker tables. At PokerFun NZ we expect our players to make new players feel welcome and our experienced Poker Managers will ensure that you are enjoying yourself.
